Sled Hockey participants & supporters:
Thanks to all who were involved with the recent silent auction at the MAC. Around $1,600 was raised to support the Turnstone Flyers Sled Hockey team.
The next fundraiser will be at the Friday, February 13, 2009 Komets game. We’re teaming up with a local youth hockey team selling raffle tickets from 7pm until around 8:20pm (game scheduled to start at 8pm). Everyone involved will need to be at the coliseum ready to set up at 6:30pm.
We need raffle items. Regardless of how big or small the item might be please do your best in connecting with people who can donate items towards this raffle. You can also partner with another family or two and buy a raffle item.
Please email me by February 3, 2009 a description of the Raffle item(s) you or your group is contributing. As we get closer to the big day we’ll combined the items as needed to create 10-15 raffle items. The extra items will be raffled/auctioned off at our tournament that weekend. For this to be a success we need your help. Below are a few suggestions:
Valentines theme (people will be looking for last minute gifts)

- Restaurant Gift Cards
- Scrap booking & other crafty items
- Candles
- Avon and other type of personal care items
- Vera Bradley items
- Electronics
- Movie Passes
- Car Wash Passes or other car related items
- Gift Certificate to the Spa
- Coffee beans – millions to choose from…you also can’t go wrong with tea
- Baby products
- Cooking/Baking
- Games (puzzles & boardgames)
- Haircare goodies
- Pet accessories
- Gardening
- Beech/Summer fun
- Bowling, paintball, lazertag, putt putt, and go-kart passes
- Paintings, Drawings, Sculptures, etc.
- Jewelry
- Fishing fun (no live bait please)
- Golf (private lesson pass, complimentary game of golf, golf balls & tees, etc)
Be creative…almost anything of value can be raffled.
For all donated items please send full contact information that so the proper thank you letter can be sent along with the documentation they need for tax-deductions.
Also as an incentive for businesses that donates towards this cause, they can promote their company by providing promotional items that will be added to the 150 “Player Bags” at the Bob Chase Frostbite Sled Hockey Tournament (Feb 14-15, 2009).
- We’ll be scrimmaging for 5 minutes during the 2nd intermission.
- Also please email me the total # of free tickets your immediate family would like for this game.
- Next practice: Monday, Jan. 12 from 6:45 – 7:45pm. Members of the Fort Wayne Fire Department and Police hockey team have been invited to practice with us on this date.
