At the Midwest Conference Championship (February 21 & 22, 2009) in Grand Rapids, MI both the Prep and Varsity Turnstone Flyers wheelchair basketball teams earned their way
to the finals with both games decided by 2 points. The Varsity Flyers defeated the Milwaukee Heat 56-54 while the Prep Flyers lost to the Sterling Heights Challengers 19-17.

**Ryan Haynes from the Milwaukee Heat hit two 3 pointers in the final minute to keep the game close; however the Flyers hanged on. There’s a history of close games between the two teams as just two weeks ago at the Windy City Classic the Flyers snuck by with a game wining elbow shot from Josh Swoverland in the final seconds to win 55-54.
