Fort Wayne native, Noah Yablong will play at the IPFW Wheelchair Tennis Open Presented by Turnstone this weekend May 30-31, 2009
- Noah Yablong (Fort Wayne, IN) Currently ranked 14th in Men’s Open Division. Junior World Team Cup Team 06-07 and #1 Junior in USTA Rankings 06 season. Just completed Sophomore year at University of Arizona. Studying Aerospace Engineering. Former Turnstone Flyers wheelchair basketball player.
- Curtis Bender – (Zeeland, MI) Curtis and his wife has helped put on wheelchair tennis clinics at Turnstone. Curtis is currently ranked 17 in Men’s Open Division.
- Thomas Kyler – (Parma Heights, OH) Currently ranked 18th in Men’s Open Division
- Pat Besta – (Zeeland, MI) Head wheelchair basketball coach of the Grand Rapids Jr. Pacers Prep Team. Plays wheelchair basketball for the Adult Jr. Pacers and is currently ranked 4th in Men’s B Division
- Zachary Sikora (Dayton, OH) Played on the Varsity Turnstone Flyers wheelchair basketball team. His Senior year in high school (2003) Invacare World Team Cup (wheelchair tennis). Attended University of Arizona. Currently plays wheelchair basketball for the Ohio Rolling Hoopstars (Championship Division). 1st USTA tournament in a few years. Welcome back.
- Mackenzie Soldan – (Louisville, KY) Currently ranked 5th in Women’s Open Division and 3rd in Junior Open. Plays wheelchair basketball for the Sterling Heights Challengers.
- Jason Miller – (Green Bay, WI) Currently ranked 17th in Quad Open
- James Ezell – (Hopkinsville, KY) Currently ranked 39th in Men’s C Division. In 2007 was 1st in Quad A. Plays Quad Rugby for the RHI Indy Brawlers.
- Edwardo -Luis- Rivera (Griffith, IN) Currently ranked 41st in Men’s B Division
- Earl Jordan (Chicago, IL) Currently ranked 33rd in Men’s C Division
- Randy Outman – (Fort Wayne, IN) Playing in first tennis tourney. Defenseman on the Turnstone Flyers adult sled Hockey team.
- Kevin Hughes (Fort Wayne, IN) Coaches Prep Turnstone Flyers wheelchair basketball team. Plays on Turnstone Flyers adult sled hockey team. Currently ranked 34th in Men’s C Division
Top finishers from last season 08′ IPFW open:
- Noah Yablong won the men’s open singles.
- Pat Besta won the men’s B division singles.
- Curtis Bender and Pat Besta won the men’s mixed doubles. Bender/Besta defeated David Hartsek and Thomas Kyler 6-2; 6-1 in the championship match
- Mackenzie Soldan won the women’s open singles.
- Soldan also won women’s open doubles. Soldan/Sporte defeated Dettloff/Tainaka 6-3; 6-3

5/28/09 NOTE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS- PLEASE REGISTER WITH A PARTNER FOR DOUBLES-ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE LISTED FOR EACH DIVISION. THE DIVISIONS WILL BE MEN’S OPEN AND MEN’S B/C. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A PARTNER PLEASE CONTACT ME AT burnset@ipfw.edu. WE HAVE AN ODD NUMBER OF PARTICPANTS SO THIS WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. YOU CAN ALSO REGISTER ON SATURDAY UNTIL 11:00am. THOSE WITHOUT PARTNERS WILL BE MATCHED UP BASED ON ORDER THE ENTRIES CAME IN. THE DRAWS WILL BE MADE SHORTLY AFTER. ONE ROUND OF DOUBLES WILL BE PLAYED ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND ONE ROUND WILL BE PLAYED ON SUNDAY
