Prep Flyers Continue to Improve

Over in Chicago, IL the Prep Turnstone Flyers win three straight games to face-off vs conference rivals Grand Rapids Jr. Pacers for the GLASA – Claddagh Invitational Championship. In a classic battle between the top two Prep teams in the Midwest Conference, the Pacers defeated the Flyers for the 4th time this season.

Quick game recaps:

Flyers 28 Milwaukee Heat 10
The Heat have improved since last time we played but the Flyer full team effort with all but two baskets made off of direct passes couldn’t be stopped.

Flyers 18 GLASA Wave 8
The Flyers struggled early with only two points in the first half. Good news is shots started to fall and the defense tighten up to hold the Wave scoreless in the 2nd half to win by 10

Flyers 24 Michigan Pistons 6
The young Pistons battled but their shots just didn’t fall.

Flyers 14 Grand Rapids Jr. Pacers 19
In the 4th quarter the Flyers had seven scoring chances but couldn’t capitalize on any of them as the Pacers secure the win with two late baskets. These two teams will likely meet again at the “Keep Up The Pace” Midwest Conference Championships Feb. 20-21 and the Flyers home “Prep for the Future” tourney on March 6 before Nationals in Denver, CO April 10-11, 2010.
