McMillen Ice Arena (also known as the MAC) open the doors to sled hockey when they hosted the first ‘Sled Hockey Exhibition” on December 9, 2007. Loaner sleds were provided from USA hockey, and attracted more than 10 disabled individuals to try hockey for the first time. In addition, more than 20 able-bodied (AB) individuals took turns in the sled. Since that time, the MAC has had several more sled hockey sessions with a great turnout of 10-15 kids per session. This regular participation gave the MAC the confidence to established the first official USA Hockey registered sled team in Indiana in June 2008 and hosted the first Sled Hockey Tournament in Indiana — February 14-15, 2009 “The Bob Chase Frostbite Championship”

***Practice will switch to Sunday’s from 1:30 – 2:30pm potentially once new ice rink is built
